Künstler-Porträt Juan Roqué Alsina

Juan Roqué Alsina was born in Buenos Aires in 1958.

He started his music studies (piano and theory of music) in 1968 and violin studies in 1970 with Sebastian Cambon as his guide. He improved his studies with masters such as Szympzya Bajour, Fernando Hasaj y Manfredo Krämer (among others). He is currently working under the instructions of master Jorge Risi.

He first performed in front of an audience in 1976 as a solo in J.S. Bach's "Double Concert" in the Salon Dorado (Golden Hall) in the Colon Theatre. Since then, he has performed in every concert hall in Buenos Aires, and in several halls in Argentina, bordering countries, Europe, Japan and USA in the most varied of all the instrumental combinations such as the so called "classical music" (chamber music, symphonic, opera and ballet), tango, music for full length films and commercials, contemporary music (acoustic and electro-acoustic), etc.

He was one of the founding members of the Orquesta del Tango de Buenos Aires. By that time he started working (as a solo and as a member of the orchestra) with many important singers, composers and arrangers of the genre: Horacio Salgán, Leopoldo Federico, Osvaldo Fresedo, Mariano Mores, Roberto Goyeneche, Alberto Marino, Osvaldo Berlinghieri, Raúl Garello, Antonio Agri, Nestor Marconi, etc.

Since 1984 to the present time, he has been part of the "Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires" (Colon Theatre), he has obtained that position by an open application

In 1999, he started activities as a musical producer under the brand "Conciertos Baires" organizing great symphony orchestras for artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Deep Purple, Lalo Schiffrin, Paloma Herrera, among others.

He works as a violin and chamber music private teacher. He worked for the Master Jorge Risi in the "Escuela Universitaria de Música de Montevideo" (Music University College of Montevideo) (Uruguay)

"We were in Italy and Switzerland around end of January. We had some "milonga-concerts" at Bologna, Torino, Lugano and Zurich with the "Locura de Tango " group, Norberto Vogel bandoneon and arrengement, Juan Roqué Alsina violin, Federico Aldao piano, and Doménico Ceresa in contrabass. This ensemble is made up of a majority argentine musicians resident in Argentina and Europe. The repertoire we perform includes classical Tango pieces that read over the whole Tango epochs."

"Mr. Vogel and me travel frequently to Europe for play with this and other groups. For this reason we would like to know you and talk about future projects."
